All students in 2nd Grade through 8th Grade take the TerraNova annual standardized achievement tests. TerraNova is utilized to gain norm-referenced data on students and to help plan for future instruction. Students in 2nd Grade through 6th Grade also take the InView Test of Cognitive Abilities. Students in 5th Grade and 8th Grade will also take the National Catholic Education Association’s Assessment of Catechesis Religious Education (ACRE).

St. Martha Catholic School students consistently score higher than their counterparts in the Diocese and across the nation and overall, Catholic school students in Sarasota County have scored in the top 10 to 15% on Standardized Tests compared to other Catholic and private schools across the nation.

Results are shared with teachers, students, parents, and the St. Martha Catholic School community. The results are analyzed and used to determine the student’s individual strengths and weaknesses. Student goals are developed that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely.
